As a Senior Ship Designer at Conoship International you will be responsible for the complete design of general cargo vessels, tankers, dredgers, offshore vessels, ro-ro vessels, fishing vessels or specials. Depending on the scope of the project, the senior designer either carries out the design activities by him/herself, or supervises and co-ordinates the work of (a number of) junior designers.
Activities:
- Carry out preliminary design tasks such as weight estimates, hull form development, general arrangement design.
- Carry out Intact and damage stability calculations.
- Write outline specifications.
- Maintain and extend contacts with clients (ship-owners/shipyards), suppliers and Class societies.
- Supervise and co-ordinate design work of Junior designers.
- Educate junior designers by sharing his/her experience from previous projects.
- Assist in sales and marketing activities.
- Actively contribute to the further development of Conoship International .
Profile:
- Master or Bachelor in Ship design or Hydrodynamics.
- Extensive experience in a similar function (>5 years).
- Affinity with innovative coastal/short sea shipping, offshore support vessels and dredgers.
- Fluent in English, preferably also Dutch speaking.
- Flexible, creative, innovative integrator of specialisms.
- Team player, excellent relationship management skills.
- Experience as a ship designer and project manager is preferred.
- Living in the North of the Netherlands, or willing to move .
