OPEN POSITION FOR REPAIR TEAM:
Maintenance MANAGER – shore vacancy :
Disney Cruise Line owns a private island in the Bahamas were their vessel go on regular basis.
They are looking for a Maintenance Manager for the Island, even though this is not a shipboard position they are looking for someone with a commercial background to balance the team as they already have a remote island experienced engineer there. Cruise ship experience not necessary, they are looking at 2nd engineer ( III/2 ) or higher with leadership experience to be able to lead a team of 30+ (island store keeper, mechanics, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, painters, etc) responsible for waste water treatment plant, stores, and electrical – all operations to keep Castaway Cay in operations.
Position: Maintenance Manager
Rotation: 13 weeks on 6 weeks off
Pay: $843 a week plus 46% vacation pay – TOTAL = $1230/week, paid while on the Island only – Negotiable depending on the experience !
Benefits: Offered year round, on contract and off contract, as long as a return contract is signed; Group Medical Coverage for Officer at no cost to self and dependent cost is minimal for one or more dependents; Short & Long Term Disability Insurance at no cost to Officer; Life Insurance at no cost to Officer and equivalent to 24 months’ salary; Retirement Savings Plan option (90-day wait to participate, 1 year wait for Company match)
National Insurance Board (NIB) – all persons who work within the Common-wealth of the Bahamas must pay contributions into National Insurance.

Job description:
• Manage the daily maintenance and upkeep of all island facilities, equipment and systems
• Provide detailed reporting of maintenance issues, staffing issues and environmental issue to the Island Manager
• Insure the timely and cost-effective provisioning of the island technical department to insure guest service and cast satisfaction
• Maintain discipline and insure that the performance of the technical cast meets the highest criteria of Disney standards for conduct, appearance and business ethics
Support on-going training and development for the technical staff to insure that safe and efficient maintenance practices are followed
• Measure the effectiveness of maintenance programs and find innovative solutions for problem areas. Lead the effective implementations of those solutions
• Be responsible for the reporting and record keeping of all maintenance activities and provisioning through the AMOS-S system
• Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to the technical staff of the island
• Establish and execute a cast development plan to provide effective motivation, maintain morale, promote diversity goals and minimize turnover of the technical staff
• Assist in the preparation of annual operating, planned work and maintenance budgeting and effectively manage to those targeted business goals
• Lead the environmental protection efforts on the island to insure the adequate environmental controls and procedures are in place and adhered to by the staff
Qualifications:
• Valid 2nd Engineer’s license in accordance with IMO and STCW regulations, or equivalent certifications
• Minimum five years experience as a technical engineer with full or subordinate responsibility for the technical management of a major facility or ship
• Demonstrated experience managing logistics in a remote location for on board ships
• Mechanical Engineer with diesel-powered electrical generation experience desired
• Waste-water treatment plant experience desired
Shipboard engineering experience at the Second Engineer level or higher desired
