Job Requirements:
Nautical College Degree (HBO)
Master “All Ships” – No limitations
In possession of valid DPO certificate of competence in accordance with STCW ‘95
Heavy Lift Experience on Offshore Vessels / Jack-Up Platforms >5 yrs
Valid STCW ’95 / Offshore Certificates
Master in English in all aspects
Job Tasks:
To supervise and co-ordinate all activities related to the unit’s operation, safety, seaworthiness and working condition, whether in the elevated, jacking or during sailing to location. The OIM/ Captain/ DPO has total responsibility for all activities onboard the unit.
The OIM /Captain/ DPO has to ensure that the unit is operated in compliance with national and international acts and regulations, as well as requirements from the company and contractual requirements
The OIM /Captain/ DPO is in overall charge of the unit and authorised to take any action, which may be considered necessary for the safety of life, safety of the unit or the prevention of marine pollution.
Ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with the applicable legislation, rules and regulations as laid down by the various authorities having jurisdiction on the different continental shelves.
Daily contact with the client’s representative; this contact has to cover: planning of client’s work program where it affects the unit’s activities, review of work carried out in previous 24 hours, accidents and materials / bulk used.
Maintaining daily contact with the Rig Manager.
Organising and chairing safety meetings.
Submission of a trip report to the Rig Manager which includes at least: health and safety, operational performance and budget matters.
Assisting the Rig Manager with the preparation and keeping to budgets.
Ensuring that all individuals on the installation are familiarised with the Management System of Workfox as far as relevant to their function and activities.
Implementing the quality, health and safety and environmental policy of the company and motivating the crew in the observation of that policy.
Issuing appropriate orders and instructions in a clear and simple manner.
Verifying that specified requirements, e.g. in the company policies, contracts, regulations, are observed.
Participation and contributing to reviews the Management System and reporting deficiencies to the shore based management.
Preparation and execution of all rig moves, and preparation of a written report from a rig move.
Ensuring that the marine certification is up - to date and advising the Rig Manager in time of expiring certificates.
Check stability calculations.
Check pre - move checklist.
Verify if double check on watertight integrity is carried out when hull has entered the water.
Complete all checklists and reports.
Establish and maintain a log (moving progress report), which details all marine aspects of the unit passage to another location.
Knowledge of DP II system
Experience with DPII System (Expert Level)
