Chartering / Post-fixture Operations Manager

Leave your personal mark on the development and growth in ARISTA’s bulker business ARISTA is operating in the bulk carrier / dry cargo industry. You will be a key figure in this strategy for growth, and you will work closely with the General Manager, to whom you will report.

The position / Chartering Manager:

Your main task is to build up a time charter portfolio in correlation with the company’s sale & purchase of vessels in which you will also participate. You must have a strong knowledge of the market mechanisms and you will bring and further develop a strong network which ensures that Arista Shipping is presented to attractive chartering opportunities. Your experience in post-fixture operations will be a plus.

Arista Shipping is an established company which owns a fleet of modern dry bulk vessels ranging from 28000 DWT to 56000 DWT. You will maintain a high level network and will be occasionally required to visit brokers, customers, and other shipowning companies. It is your responsibility to ensure that the fleet is chartered at the most competent and optimal conditions and that the ships operate with the consistent quality that characterizes Arista. Your responsibility shall include following up with the ships and the charterers in coordinating post-fixture operations.

The right candidate:

In principle, there are two entries to this position: You are either in a similar position today in another shipping company or you are successful executive in a chartering department and ready to develop commercially.

Besides a strong foundation within shipping, you must also be commercially well-established and a team player. You must have the ability to balance initiative and responsibility, you must be persistent and independent, and at the same time, you must understand the art of understanding, cooperation and negotiation.

Other languages will certainly be a plus but Greek (and/or Portuguese) will also assist you. EU working permit is required.
