Job description


Provide ongoing support to the regional general manager and country focal points to ensure the business strategy is followed on a regional basis and objectives / sales targets are achieved.
Provide ongoing operational support to the projects team to ensure that we deliver the required services.
Provide ongoing commercial support to the projects team to ensure that we achieve the agreed business targets.
Identify and develop relationship with key overseas partners and vendors / carriers.
Continue to build up portfolio of approved overseas partners and vendors (owners/operators/landside contractors) and manage the ongoing relationships.
In conjunction with the RGM, to assist country managers in the recruitment and training of country focal points and operations staff.
Provide operational and administrational support to the RGM.
Manage the compilation and submission of tender and RFQ documentation (costings, supporting documentation, etc) within deadline for all large projects.
Review and ensure tender and RFQ documentation for all local projects meets BLPL’s business and quality guidelines.
Provide support to the RGM in arranging the chartering of vessels on favourable terms.

Desired Skills and Experience

At least 5 years direct and relevant experience in the project logistics sector (customs, shipping, airfreight and landside). A project forwarder background is required with a deep understanding of the operational and process related aspects of the project logistics business.
Proven track record of developing strong relationships with overseas partners, vendors and potential clients
Strong and established relationships with carriers with proven experience in chartering vessels
Experience of managing a small team of operations staff on a regional basis.
Given the geographical area covered by BLPL’s office network, the ability to operate successfully within a multi-cultural environment is essential.
Excellent spoken and written communications skills, particularly in English.
Must have proven attention to detail and the ability to coordinate operations.
Resourceful, self-motivated and able to work independently.
Ability to multi-task effectively, with a service minded approach to their job.
Ability to travel within Asia, as required.
