Position requires experience in handling diverse outside marketing efforts, the ability to identify profitable opportunities for business expansion and growth, and familiarity with the onshore and coastal geotechnical business in the British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan areas of Canada. Strong understanding and utilization of sales and marketing techniques is essential. General understanding of geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing, survey and other services Fugro provides is considered a plus. Candidates must possess the ability to:

Identify, contact and inform existing and prospective clients of services available through Fugro.
Conduct outside sales and marketing to potential clientele, assisting regional Fugro offices as needed, and promote specific business lines.
Maintain network of contacts in geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing markets area for the purposes of finding project leads, identifying market trends and having general and detailed knowledge of geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing markets.
Assist with cold calling and intelligence development for prospective new projects throughout the region.
Track client feedback information and ensure commitments to clients are met.
Gain understanding of clients’ business needs, success factors and service requirements and incorporate into well-conceived account plans.
Demonstrate strong ability to coordinate and collaborate among different parties to satisfy client needs.
Become acquainted with other Fugro operating companies that provide complementary services to common clients.
Introduce Fugro engineers, scientists and senior technicians to client representatives seeking specific services or assistance.
Schedule, facilitate and lead presentations to clients.
Travel extensively.
Communicate tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing.
Maintain effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.

position requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar required from accredited college or university.
Licensed Professional Engineer strongly preferred.
10 to 15 years’ experience in geotechnical/engineering markets and marketing/sales preferred.
Strong knowledge of Canadian oil and gas clients.
Knowledge of mining sector, preferred.
Must be flexible, reliable, dedicated self-starter who is diligent in client follow-up.
Possess excellent interpersonal skills.
