Our performance management team is expanding. We are busy supporting our two business units at J. Lauritzen A/S and are therefore seeking a new team member. We invite you to be our new colleague, based at the head office in Hellerup, Denmark and encourage you to keep reading.
Your professional and personal qualifications
We are looking for someone who has the expertise and the passion to develop a deep understanding of our data models and -warehouses. This knowledge will help us to supply our stakeholders with evidence-based information and advice.
In order to improve efficiency, you have a keen eye for automating and optimising dataflows as well as the general developing process. But most of all, it is important that you are structured, thorough and produce well-documented, solid and tested code.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in development and possibly in an analytics role. Knowledge of the maritime industry is an advantage, but not a requirement.
As we are an international shipping company, English is our working language. This means that your English skills must be above average.
Your new workplace and colleagues
The performance management department is currently a small but diverse team of five engineers and data analysts with a mix of academic and sea-going backgrounds, working in a relaxed but focused environment.
We work on enhancing the insight and overview of the current and future business - and fleet of vessels - through data. We use this to help stakeholders from the commercial and technical part of the organisation to make decisions and strategies.
Flexibility is key. We offer you the possibility to work remotely when needed and likewise expect you to act with a flexible mind-set towards your tasks and colleagues.
Your new job
As our new BI and software developer, you will be involved in the entire data flow. From collecting data from web services, databases, emails, files, etc. to the structuring and analysis in the data warehouse to the final visualisation and presentation.
Our set-up is based on Microsoft tools, so you should be comfortable with Visual Studio (C#, C++), VBA, SQL Server ( SSMS, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS), PowerBI and preferably also Azure-based CI/CD pipelines triggered by Git. Besides that, you should be familiar with script programming (Python and/or R) and usage of Web services (REST API, SOAP).
The position reports to the Head of Performance Management.
