Key Responsibilities:
1. Vessel Maintenance & Repairs:
o Monitor and ensure the timely maintenance and repair of tanker vessels.
o Plan and coordinate routine and non-routine maintenance, including drydocking
and emergency repairs.
o Liaise with the vessel's crew to address any technical issues that arise during
operations.
2. Compliance & Safety:
o Ensure all vessels comply with international maritime laws, regulations, and
classification society requirements (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, etc.).
o Oversee regular inspections (Port State Control, Flag State, Class, etc.) and
ensure rectification of any deficiencies.
o Implement and maintain health, safety, environmental, and quality
management systems on board vessels.
3. Budgeting & Cost Control:
o Develop and manage the technical budget for each vessel, including planned
maintenance and repair costs.
o Monitor and control technical expenses to ensure they remain within approved
budgets.
o Analyze and optimize vessel performance to reduce operational costs.
4. Dry-Docking & Shipyard Supervision:
o Plan, prepare, and supervise the dry-docking and major repairs of vessels,
including tendering, negotiation, and contractor supervision.
o Prepare docking specifications, evaluate proposals, and oversee work in
shipyards to ensure timely completion and compliance with standards.
5. Team Coordination & Leadership:
o Liaise with the vessel’s Master, Chief Engineer, and crew for smooth
coordination of technical tasks.
o Provide technical guidance and support to the vessel's crew and technical staff.
o Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to vessel staff
regarding technical operations.
6. Documentation & Reporting:
o Ensure proper documentation and records of all technical activities, including
maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
o Prepare and submit technical reports and budget updates to the management.
o Maintain an accurate record of vessel certification, statutory documentation,
and maintenance logs.
7. Vendor & Contractor Management:
o Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors, service providers,
and shipyards.
o Negotiate contracts, evaluate service providers, and ensure work is completed
