Job Summary
The captain/Master is responsible for the safe navigation, operation, and overall
management of the Multi-Purpose Supply Vessel. This includes ensuring compliance with
maritime regulations, company policies, and client requirements while maintaining high
standards of safety, efficiency, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Always command and navigate the vessel safely
Ensure compliance with international maritime laws (SOLAS, MARPOL, COLREGS),
flag state, and company procedures
Oversee all vessel operations including cargo handling, offshore support activities,
towing, supply runs, and special projects
Maintain vessel readiness for operations, including safety equipment and
certifications
Lead and manage crew, ensuring proper discipline, training, and welfare
Ensure adherence to ISM Code, ISPS Code, and company safety management
systems
Conduct safety drills and risk assessments
Liaise with clients, port authorities, agents, and company management
Maintain accurate logbooks, voyage reports, and operational documentation
Ensure environmental protection measures are followed
Respond effectively to emergencies and incidents
Qualifications & Certifications
Valid Certificate of Competency as Master (Captain) appropriate for vessel type and
tonnage
STCW certification (Basic Safety, Advanced Firefighting, Medical First Aid, etc.)
Valid medical fitness certificate
ISM and ISPS awareness/training
DP certification (if vessel is DP-equipped – preferred)
Experience
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as Master on offshore or supply vessels (MPSV,
PSV, AHTS preferred)
Strong offshore operations experience
Proven leadership and safety record
Skills & Competencies
Excellent navigational and seamanship skills
Strong leadership and crew management ability
Good understanding of offshore operations and marine regulations
Effective communication and reporting skills
Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions
Proficiency in spoken and written English for effective communication and reporting
