Electrical Superintendent - Bulk

The candidate will be responsible in ensuring high quality support to fleet groups and vessels to optimize operations on time and within budgets for electrical, automation systems and navigation and communication systems along with being responsible for handover, takeover, dry dock, equipment retrofit and upgrades for the vessels.

Department: Technical (BULK)

Experience range (Years): 1 year - 5 years

Qualification:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent with a focus on Marine Electrical and Automation, navigation, and communication.

Experience Required:

  • Marine Electrical Engineer with at least 5 years of sailing experience on Bulk Carrier is preferred.
  • ETO COC holder 
  • Experience in geared Bulk Carriers with Cranes and Grabs(MacGreggor crane preferred).

Skills Required:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally.
  • Self-starter who values collaboration.
  • Ability to coach and motivate team members for their career growth.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Review planned maintenance activities for Electrical, Automation Navigation and Communication equipment by evaluating operational risk along with the stakeholders and accordingly develop maintenance strategies.
  • Identify, evaluate, propose, test run cost effective technology that reduces carbon footprint and positively impacts bottom line/ profitability of Synergy and asset owners.
  • Actively maintain database of life-cycle upgrade, equipment failure, root cause analysis of Electrical, Automation Navigation and communication equipment on responsible vessels and guide data driven decisions across fleet within areas of responsibility.
  • Timely and effectively propose yearly budgets for the fleet groups, be up to date with existing/ upcoming rules and requirements in the field of expertise in close collaboration with Nautical/Marine standard team.
  • Responsible for vendor management as and when necessary and providing feedback with the category management team.
  • Liaise with procurement team with regards to the purchase of stores/spares and at the same time, ensuring that they are procured timely and at the optimize cost.
  • Ensure timely approval of requisition/orders as well as that invoices are paid within the areas of responsibility by the due date.
  • Ensure that proper business/economic evaluations are made for a cost-effective operation.
