ABOUT THE POSITION: IFS is growing rapidly to make sure our services are guaranteed to the clients we are looking for a Full time Training Instructor who will be responsible for training and supporting audit/stock takes and trouble shooting at our offices or on board the clients vessels.The main job would be to represent our company and to train the catering crew on our standard operating procedures and way of working. With a focus on safety, quality, variety and waste management.This includes training on cooking skills, menu planning, QHSE and another range of maritime catering standards. Within this position you will work closely together with our different departments internally such as operations,crewing and procurement as well as externally you will be in contact with our clients, catering crew, suppliers and captains to give your support where you can.Location; you would mainly give training in Belgium at our Maritime Food Lab in Antwerp.
The main tasks/responsibilities will be:
- Conducting IFS training to Chief Cooks, stewards and camp bosses of IFS clients at the IFS office in Antwerp.
- During the training sessions; preparing, cooking and showcasing the dishes according to the IFS scope and cooking app.
- Conducting catering audits and stock making on board of vessels.
- Introducing the IFS way of working on board of new catered vessels.
What are we looking for:
- Full Professional Proficiency in English
- Computer literacy (MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- 5+ years of working experience within the maritime catering industry
- Solid Knowledge of Hygiene Legislation and food safety standards
- Understanding of Health & Safety Regulations and MARPOL Guidelines
- Cooking certification in international cuisine; additional knowledge of other cuisines is a plus
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Excellent Communication and Organizational Skills
- Reliable, Flexible, and Proactive Work Ethic
- Willingness to Work Beyond Standard Hours – no strict 9-to-5 mindset
- Ability to Work Well Under Pressure in a fast-paced environment
