Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering firm Guido Perla & Associates, Inc. (GPA) is looking for an experienced Vice President of Engineering to join our expanding staff at the company’s headquarters in Seattle, WA.
Primary responsibiliƟ es will include:
/ The Vice President of Engineering shall manage a team of senior and junior personnel for an internaƟ onal organizaƟ on of
approximately 60 engineers and designers
/ Ensure that the engineering products and processes of this company are in keeping with the high standards of GPA and meet
the ethical requirements of a Professional Engineering organizaƟ on
AddiƟ onal responsibiliƟ es will include:
/ Develop and maintain engineering standards, Quality Assurance and technical procedures, both directly and through the
management of other qualifi ed engineers
/ Employee review and retenƟ on, including new hires
/ Develop and maintain engineering training programs, including EIT specifi c training and company specifi c training
/ Help develop and encourage professional papers and presentaƟ ons
/ Develop new business proposals, including budget esƟ maƟ on, resource esƟ maƟ on and schedule development
PosiƟ on Requirements:
/ BSE or MSE Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering
/ Minimum of twenty years experience working as a Naval Architect, primarily in the commercial industry
/ Excellent communicaƟ on skills
/ Be well versed in GHS for stability
/ Working knowledge of AutoCAD
/ Experience with diesel-electric and standard propulsion systems
/ Experience with diff erent manufacturing and construcƟ on methods
Physical Requirements:
/ Limited physical acƟ vity in an offi ce environment
/ Physical ability to parƟ cipate in shipyard and shipboard surveys involving access to confi ned spaces, climbing verƟ cal ladders
and scaff olding, minor liŌ ing, and other acƟ vity
/ Dexterity and coordinaƟ on to operate computer equipment
/ Finite Element Analysis experience a plus
/ Ability to work independently or as part of a focused team
/ Excellent wriƩ en and oral communicaƟ on skills in English
/ Dexterity and coordinaƟ on to operate computer equipment Location: United States of America (USA)
