We Offer
An exciting position within the heart of our towage operations where the successful candidate will join our local team and be responsible for the daily planning of all our towage operations and activities in Bremerhaven.
Key Responsibilities
The position as a towage operator involves receiving orders for towage, overall fleet planning of towage resources, dispatching tugs, collecting, managing and forwarding information in an ever changing and sometimes stressful environment.
Our tugs operate all day, every day, so the job entails some shift work and attractive non-office hours as a single operator.
A well-developed ability and capacity for multi-tasking and taking decisions independently is a prerequisite for this position, though there will be ongoing interaction with customers, port agents, crew and colleagues from other departments and regions
Who we are looking for
You have experience and/or a degree from the maritime industry, for example nautical, seagoing, chartering, port- or agency operations. If you have worked at sea, that is a distinct advantage. A strong sense for service-mindedness, ease in communicating through all levels in an organization and ability to build sustainable working relationships is a must.
In order to succeed in this role you need to be fluent in German and have an excellent command of verbal and written English.
