TECHNICAL SUPERINTENDENT in Port Harcourt, Nigeria

1. Must be a Class one Marine Engineer.
2. Must have at least 5yrs experience as a technical Superintendent
3. Must have been a Chief Engineer on board functional vessels at least for 10yrs
4. Must have knowledge of Anchor Handling Tugs, Supply Vessels and/ Construction Barges
5. Office Location is Port Harcourt, Rivers State in Nigeria
6. Responsibilities / job description:
- Ensure vessels are maintained to international regulations and company procedures
- Maintain daily contacts with vessel with a view to getting first hand all issues of defects and breakdowns, close out same within a shortest possible time frame
- Eliminate/Minimize vessel downtime on projects
- Ensure statutory and class surveys for all plants and machinery are carried out as at and when due
- Maintain monthly inspection of all engine log books while liaising with the technical unit, to ensure proper entries, trace technical lapses and proffer constructive corrections and solutions.
- Conduct a monthly vessel routine inspection of all marine fleet under contract, with a view to identifying vessel defects and technical lapses while ensuring close out of same within a shortest possible time frame.
- Participate in safety management system review meetings
- Report and Investigate all machinery breakdowns, ensuring all necessary root and remote causes are identified, mitigating factors set and implemented. This is to be carried out in conjunction with the operations units.
- Deal all non-conformities covering technical procedures of S.M.S both ashore and afloat
