OPERATIONS ENGINEER (ASST VESSEL MANAGER)

An exciting opportunity to work with one of the most modern multi-purpose vessels in the world.
Our client requires an Operations Engineer who will report directly to the vessel manager.
This is a permanent position based at the client’s office in Oslo, Norway. It will also require extensive travel to and from the vessel wherever it may be contracted to.

Duties include (but not limited to) :

Operations Phase – Be conversant with all current vessel operations and provide assistance in planning and supporting offshore operations.
Engineering Phase – Define operational requirements and provide input and operational procedures during design and document reviews, risk assessments, HAZID, HAZOP and interface meetings.
Construction Phase – Take the customer role to ensure that the vessel’s equipment is suitable for the operational purpose and timely identify gaps between delivery by the Project Department and what is required by the Operations Department.
Business Development – Support Business Development processes by providing operational input into tender and bidding processes.
Provide operational, engineering, contractual and general support to offshore team, in-country organisation and main office.
Be fully conversant with the contract, client (or other) requirements and units scope of work, and be able to recognise and discuss variations and changes.
Assist in development of variation orders (VO)
Participate in daily meetings with offshore- and in-country organizations.
Be a part of the emergency preparedness organization.

Administer subcontracts established various international suppliers and ensure timely deliveries.
Assist in development of tenders when required.
Initiate and develop operational technical improvements to operations and equipment.
Pro-actively follow up on the field HSEQ register and provide support and initiate actions from the main office when required.
Ensure that the in-country onshore organization is familiarized with the applicable procedures, relevant subcontracts and the main client contract.
Assist in the development of the budgetary forecast.
Assist in the development and modification of operational procedures and documents.
Ensure management is kept informed with regard to potential elements of risk to revenue.
Provide input for monthly operation reports.
Provide input for invoicing towards client.
Assist in sales of increased operational services to client.
Establish and administer subcontracts with local and international suppliers of services required to support the vessel operation.
Assist in establishing training and competency requirements for offshore team and facilitate in sourcing appropriate courses and training.
Participate in the selection and recruitment process of key personnel off- and onshore.
Establish and maintain Master Document Register (MDR) for company and operations department.
Support establishment of in-country teams to support offshore operations.
Identify operational risks and introduce mitigating actions accordingly
Assist in establishing training and competency requirements for offshore team and facilitate in sourcing appropriate courses and training.
Participate in the selection and recruitment process of key personnel off- and onshore.
Establish and maintain Master Document Register (MDR) for company and operations department.
Support establishment of in-country teams to support offshore operations.

Qualifications:
Previous Operational Experience
Valid Offshore Survival
Valid Medical and Relevant Offshore Safety Courses
