Our client is providing a major oil & gas Operator with all levels of commercial staff worldwide. We are currently seeking and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join them initially in Calgary then relocating to site in Albian Sands, Canada to work on a major debottle-necking oil-sands project, coordinating and managing the costs from the early design plans through to the completion of construction.
Priorities would be to ensure accurate progress measurement, client / contractor reporting, estimate quantities and accurate MTO’s.
Main responsibilities would be:
Carrying out feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labour costs, bills of quantities, value engineering, valuing completed work, monitoring each stage of construction to make sure that costs are in line with forecasts, providing financial and physical progress reports.
You will work Monday to Friday around 8 hours per day.
Initially location in Calgary for orientation to projects with site visits to Albian Sands.
Succeeding orientation period the position will be relocated to site on a rotation basis. You should have a Degree or professional qualification or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, construction etc.
You must have skills and knowledge of quantity surveying, estimating, construction, a good knowledge of construction methods and material, budget handling skills, have a methodical approach to work, good organizational skills, be an excellent communicator with the ability to work as part of a team.
