The HUGH R SHARP is an advanced oceanographic research ship with diesel electric propulsion including twin Z-drive prime movers and a tunnel bow thruster. The engine room is unmanned. Engineers diagnose and repair problems occurring in propulsion, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems while at sea, and perform preventative maintenance alongside. Engineers also operate and maintain deck oceanographic handling equipment. The ship primarily sails out of our home port in Lewes, Delaware. Location: Worldwide
