An exciting opportunity has arisen within MPI for a Quality Officer based at our office in Stokesley, North Yorkshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the quality system in addition to carrying out independent QA activities within key projects across the Company including the development of Quality Plans. They shall be repsonisble for providing ongoing quality support for the engineering design and manufacturing activities within Projects and when required maintaining a degree of customer liaison. The Quality Officer shall report directly to the HSEQ Manager and assist in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality system.
As a Quality Officer your main responsibilities will involve:
1. Knowledge and understanding of the following quality systems; ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 including engineering quality systems. Lead auditor is desirable but not essential.
2. Knowledge of engineering standards e.g. BS/EN standards, CDM Regulations etc.
3. Responsible for carrying out the independent QA activities within key projects across the Company including the development of Quality Plans and Procedures.
4. Providing ongoing quality support for the design and manufacturing activities within Projects and as required maintaining a degree of customer liaison.
5. Identify and lead project quality improvement.
6. Prepare QA Plans, Procedures, Reports, Statistics and other related QA documentation.
7. Carry out internal QA audits and external audits of manufacturers/suppliers as required including closing out audit findings, creating audit reports and determine proper corrective and preventative actions.
8. Implementation of the quality system and associated documentation.
9. Direct and advise Project Teams to ensure the implementation of the project is in line with the Quality Plan and all applicable Company processes and procedures.
10. Manage and host Classification Society audits and Client audits.
11. Training to develop quality awareness.
12. A mandatory requirement is to be highly experienced and familiar with engineering drawings, together with experience of working in an engineering manufacturing environment.

As a Quality Officer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
1. HND, Degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline with extensive QA experience.
2. Qualification in ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 is desirable.
3. Must be able to read drawings and analyse dimensional data.
4. Able to conduct Internal Audits and Supplier Assessments
5. Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
