Job description
Manages the vessel and crew on behalf of the owner/operator in an efficient and economical manner, taking in account safety and environmental issues for all operations.
Responsibilities and authorities.
Maintain and implement the QHSE system on board.
Ensure an efficient execution of the contractually agreed work in such a way that the requirements are met.
Final responsibility for the safety of the ship, it’s crew and all personnel on board.
Compliance with the shipping rules and regulations, local legislation and company procedures.
Plan, prepare and execution of marine operations and navigation.
Verifying delegates and required activities.
In emergencies situations the Master SDPO is overall in charge.
Ensure work methods according to the Vessel Specific Manual.
The Master DPO has the authority to stop all operations which are not executed in a safe manner and/or endangering the vessel and its crew.
Maintain order and discipline on board.
Ensuring that statutory and Class surveys are carried out in time.
He may assign special duties to all crew.
Job requirements
DP unlimited Certificate
DP Logbook
Certificate of competency (preferably Dutch)
In possession of all required STCW certificates
Designated Security Duties certificate
Medical certificate
Seaman's book
Passport
