Job description
The Electrician/ Instrument Engineer reports to the Technical Section Leader who he/she shall keep informed of all matters of significance related to his/her sphere of responsibility.
He/she is the competent person appointed by the Platform Manager/OIM to be responsible for the electrical and instrumental equipment of the installation.
He/she shall ensure that all work within his/her area of responsibility is performed in a safe and healthy manner, that the impact on the environment is kept to a minimum and that all safety instructions are followed.
He/she is responsible for the operation, maintenance and repairs of the platform's electrical and instrumental installations and connected electrical and instrumental equipment.
He/she shall ensure that the platform's planned maintenance program, as applicable to the electrical installations and instrumental installations and connected electrical and instrumental equipment, is followed and shall report maintenance carried out and keep records of tests.
He/she shall plan electrical and instrumental maintenance and repair work, coordinating both crew and contract manpower, materials, services and available maintenance time to avoid equipment down time.
He/she is responsible for the performance of daily, weekly and monthly inspections and tests as per the maintenance system procedures.
He/she shall ensure that adequate records are maintained and reports compiled for management and
Classification Society.
He/she shall make available equipment for survey by any authority, where appropriate.
He/she shall ensure control is maintained over the ordering, storage and usage of electrical and instrumental spare parts to achieve a minimum of plant down time with lowest costs.
He/she shall ensure that all records, manuals and technical drawings are updated and maintained in a correct and useable form.
He/she shall be an authority for the purposes of the electrical permit to work on high voltage equipment.
He/she shall provide guidance, training and instruction to crew, contractors and guests as requested.
He/she is responsible to ensure that only qualified/ competent personnel is working on electrical /instrumental equipment.
Job requirements
Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
