Marinesko Odessa nautical school

Odessa nautical school - one of the eldest of maritime education in Ukraine.

July 1, 1898 by the State Council of Russia in Odessa rochysto open "Classes trading navigation" in Odessa Commercial School.
In 1901 classrooms converted into pozarozryadnyy school "Odessa school of trading navigation."
For this picturesque corner of the city, on a cliff by the sea in 1902 - 1903 GG by architect L. Wlodek city built a special building, architectural monument, which is located to college now.
Since the opening of the institution and in 1918 led the school collegiate assesor LL Havrysheva, author of numerous books and manuals for navigators.
In July 1899 the city acquired for schools in England dedicated training ships - sailing ship "Grand Duchess Maria."
In 1910 acquired educational vessel renamed "Freedom" (1919 - 1928r.r).
1920 School renamed the "Technical Waterways", and in 1931 - in "Odessa Marine Engineering". Technical equal to the status of higher education institutions and trained engineers narrow profile.
In 1928 it was purchased for sailing "friend" that served as a school until his death in 1942. During the war the school was evacuated.
1944 decision of the State Defense Committee maritime schools were reorganized into Closed nautical school on full state maintenance. In 1945 transferred to the college educational vessel "Ivan Susanin" and in 1954 - "Equator".

In 2005, the school is certified, and in 2008 confirmed the compliance of quality system ISO 9001: 2000. Certification was performed by BUREAU VERITAS Certification.
In 2008 became part of the Odessa National Maritime Academy.

And the university level accreditation, trains specialists on full-time and correspondence branches in the field:
• Specialization 5.07010401 - "Navigation on sea routes";
• Specialization 5.07010403 - "Operation of ship power plants";
• Specialization 5.07010105 - "Transportation and overload on water transport" (adopted boys and girls);
• Specialization 5.5050213 - "Operation mechanization and automation of handling operations in maritime transport."
The level of training - junior specialist.
The total amount of students is:
• full-time education - 680 people .;
• extramural studies - 1000 people.
In the swimming profession accepted youths with completed secondary education are eligible for health to work on Navy ships. During the period of study at the school for undergraduate students get jobs professions (sailor and mechanic class and I class), access to foreign navigation and the ability to design the necessary certificate for foreign-going vessels. While in school, students do practical work on ships, shipyards, ports.
College graduates work for domestic ships and ships of foreign companies. Over the years the school has trained more than 70,000 specialists for the Navy.
