Description
Overall objective:-
To enhance the onboard experience for each of our valued guests, ensuring that every aspect of the Oceania brand is executed with superior precision while maintaining the exacting standards of excellence in hospitality.
To oversee the management of senior-level staff members, directing and analyzing the delivery of the Oceania product; ensuring that department heads provide their staff with continuous coaching, training and support.
Achieving consistency and perfection in every discipline throughout the hotel, the General Manager solicits and interprets feedback from staff and guests alike in order to seek methods of further elevating the product’s merits, and in turn communicating these recommendations to Vessel Operations;
To protect and maintain the ship as a company asset, ensuring the ability from a structural perspective to provide a distinctive cruise experience for the guests.
To foster a pleasant work environment for the staff as a whole in order to generate maximum crew well-being. Leading by demonstrating and creating team spirit, the General Manager’s daily involvement in the crew’s welfare will build camaraderie and unity across all of the ship’s departments; to lead OCI’s Service Training Initiatives and facilitate staff development in furtherance of the objectives of this role.
Oversees all hotel areas and concessions to ensure that consistent service standards and presentation in all areas are maintained, in line with OCI’s policies, procedures and expectations.
To serve as a liaison between ship (Hotel, Deck and Engine) and Government Officials are required.
Profile:-
Several years experience on small/medium sized ships working as General Manager ideally in a similar style company
Understanding of the highest level of service; Ideally worked in the Premium or Luxury market
Strong in the F&B side of operations with practical experience in this field, truly understands the concept of fine dining food and drink.
Strong working knowledge of ship and the various depts. It’s a plus if candidates also have a good overview knowledge of Pursers dept inc. international clearance.
Well organized;
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent administrative skills; Computer literate – Word/excel/Fidelio/MXP/and similar
Good at resolution mgt and dealing with well travelled and demanding guests.
Strong leadership skills and practice ‘leadership by example;
Good at resolution mgt and dealing with well travelled and demanding guests.
Outgoing personality, open minded and flexible;
Ability to work in an international environment;
Ability to perform well under pressure; whilst simultaneously achieving both ship and company goals and service standards.
Excellent appearance and excellent social skills;
Good written and spoken English
Positive personality – good at socializing, Hosting tables at required level for this position
