The objective is to highlight the areas of responsibilities of a cadet towards his/her education and training.

We Offer:
Maersk Crewing is committed to safe and efficient manning of vessels. A diversified fleet - consisting of Containers, VLCCs, large product tankers of aframax size, handy tankers, small chemical and oil tankers, LPGs and PCTC vessels - offers a challenging environment to each individual, who looks forward to joining our fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

1. It is the responsibility of the cadet to ensure that he/she complies with this procedure.
2. The cadet must at all times adhere to the Company operational procedures, guidelines and regulations.
3. The cadet must in all his duties represent and conduct safety awareness.
4. The cadet should familiarize himself/herself with the Company culture and norms.
5. The cadet is a potential officer and therefore expected to act like one both on and off duty.
6. The cadet should behave with a good example to others, and show diligence and interest in any task, assignment or training on board the vessel.
7. The cadet should prompt assertiveness in all matters related to his/her training on board and in all matters in general.
8. The cadet is urged to use all resources and time as his/her disposal to enhance and further their education. Whilst the Master and his/her crew provide the necessary environment and forum for the dual cadet to improve his/her learning skills, the bonus of education/training rests equally with the individual.
9. Maintaining the Training Record book is the responsibility of the individual cadet.
10. Person(s) responsible towards supervising the training on board will be the Master / Designated Training Officer (DTO) acting on board as representative of the Marine Department in full co-operation with the shipboard management.
11. The cadet should impose all means to ensure continuity in the training process on board as the DTO or shipboard management may be relieved during the sea service period. Preparing a hand-over in writing by the cadet to the joining DTO could fulfill this.
