Crew Coordinator
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The Crew Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the crewing of Company vessels, monitoring personnel performance records and maintaining payroll records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure all crew have proper and up to date licensing as required for that position. Send out required reminder notices.
Ensure that each assigned vessel meets all COI or Hornbeck requirements at all times.
Provide input and expertise to VGM’s and Operations Managers on crew assignments, promotions and/or other crew related issues.
Maintain accurate Crew Status reports for assigned vessels
Responsible for accurate and timely preparation of all payrolls for assigned vessels
Coordinate with Captains and crewmembers to assure each crew change is handled efficiently. Arrange crew change related travel, hotels, etc. as necessary.
Participate in New Hire Orientation; Paperwork preparation.
Prepare Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) on assigned crew as changes require.
Provide 24 hour call support to operations during assigned weekends
Coordinate all aspects of 3rd party contract-vessel employees
Provide employee relations liaison with management for assigned crew members
Coordinate vessel annual evaluation process and longevity pay calculations
Personally visit assigned vessels regularly
All other duties as assigned by management
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Five (5) or more years of industry and/or Human Resources experience is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Personal computer functional skills, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

HOURS OF WORK
Standard Hours are 0730-1730 Monday through Friday (or until work is completed), excluding travel and overtime.
Requires 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on call for personnel and claims issues.
