Engineering position
Key Accountabilities:
· Provide service in accordance with client’s request and contract specifications.
· Review project requirements. Supervise moderate to complex site investigation and is assigned lead responsibility of 1 to 2 lower grade personnel on project basis to direct implementation of appropriate techniques.
· Develop geological assessment on project with specific requirements or complex settings with potential impact on project development. Show initiative and lead in innovative technologies to develop mapping competencies and increase expertise with geo-data modelling on each project.
· Product Manager for selected Fugro products and thereby gaining expertise through literature and/or studies.
· Establish and maintain long term relations with clients and business partners. Identify and develop engineering and consulting service opportunities with clients within a project.
· Updated and actively contribute to implementation of published Quality Assurance, Health, Safety and Environmental procedures in the work place.
position requirements
Qualifications required:
· M. Sc in Geology or Earth science.
· At least 10 years experience in soil investigation & laboratory testing, derivation of parameters and foundation design, geological assessment, development of mapping and identification of features, faults, seismic hazard, slope stability and other related geohazards.
· Updated in geological assessment techniques, logging, laboratory and in-situ-testing standards and capable of knowledge transfer to department members. Capable to prepare geotechnical engineering assessment for common foundation types.
· Familiar with at least one geological data assessment and mapping tool.
· Fluent in English, with excellent writing skills.
Skills / experience required to do the job:
· Review projects planning, assign work and review of tests processing, logging and calculations.
· May assist with review of tenders with high profile geological content requirement and scoping.
· Conduct his/her own reporting and review other geologist. Make sure geologist are properly trained and updated with logging procedure, run QA/QC on logging.
· Follow technical development in the industry and integrate expertise from other Fugro OPCO in coordination with the principal engineer or regional engineering manager.
· Find solutions in coordination with the senior geotechnical engineer or lead geotechnical engineer for all problems faced or anticipated during a project.
· Responsible for logging quality of the geologist and field engineer in the department and train them as required using Fugro learning material where available.
· Awareness of any specific health and safety measures needed on a project.
· Knowledge of Auto CAD and GIS software preferable.
