Industrial Design Engineer

TTS Group ASA is an international company which develops handling solutions and access systems for the marine- and offshore industries. Headquartered in Norway, TTS has subsidiaries in 14 countries and serves a global client base from strategic points in Europe, Asia and America. TTS Syncrolift AS is a subsidiary of TTS Group and offers customised ship handling solutions to shipyards worldwide. The product range includes Shiplifting Systems for launching and retrieval of ships and FastDocking products for efficient handling/repair of ships.

Efficiency in docking, launching and repair operations of ships is influenced by which solutions are used. TTS Syncrolift is continually developing smarter solutions which will improve productivity and speed of operations in the shipyard. We work in a global market with global competitors. Our vision is to design and clearly visualize our products in such a way that customers will immediately recognize TTS Syncrolift products. TTS Syncrolift seeks to appoint an Industrial Design Engineer who will be responsible for continuously improving the look and visualization of our products and systems (not incl. engineering/construction).

Work Tasks
•  Investigate product characteristics such as simplicity of use, product safety, handling, market appeal and maintenance
• Work with engineering, marketing and production to find and initiate design concepts
•  Drive design projects in collaboration with internal and external resources, including corporate marketing
•  Visualization through animation
•  Visualization through use of pictures, illustrations, rendering and ability to make artist impressions
•  Assist engineering and marketing department with presentation material
• Attend and participate in tradeshows, when requested

Qualifications

•  Engineer with MSc or BSc degree in Industrial/Product design, or other relevant education and experience
• Fluent English skills, both oral and written
•  High proficiency in relevant software (e.g. Adobe CC, 3D CAD modelling and rendering packages)
•  Portfolio demonstrating a superb sense of engineering, aesthetics, usability, prototyping, rendering and animations
•  Experience from an engineering company, working in a cross-discipline manner

•  Enjoys the initiation and driving of cross functional design projects
•  Excellent communication, writing, listening and presentation skills
