We are seeking to recruit seagoing geophysical engineers to support the hydrographic and geophysical survey teams. You will be responsible for deploying, recovering, maintaining, repairing and replacing equipment and parts as required. Ideally, you will have strong electronics experience and/or qualifications and have worked in a busy team environment. This is a seagoing role, so experience of working at sea on vessels will be advantageous, but not essential.

Hours: Full Time

The engineering team provide around the clock support and are expected to maintain a constant service in shifts to data acquisition operations. The team is led at sea by an appointed Engineer In Charge on a designed shift pattern and supported by technical advisors in the office.We are seeking individuals that will be adaptable, positive and able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. You will need to be someone who contributes to the team, both practically and thoughtfully when solving problems and is able to respond to instructions. With the full seagoing role you will be expected to work at sea up to 200 days per calendar year. You may be posted anywhere in the world where Gardline vessels operate on a variety of projects for a variety of companies.

Geophysical Engineers

We are able to offer some entry-level and trainee roles to candidates who have not worked in this role previously, but individuals must have relevant transferable skills or have graduated in an engineering, physics or relevant scientific field. Preferable experiences would include electronics, electrical, mechanical engineering or a scientific discipline..

You will also be required to pass appropriate medical and survival course upon joining us. You will also complete a training course covering the theories and methods of geophysical engineering and geophysical data acquisition. You will also have the opportunity to begin developing expertise in the maintenance and repair of all survey equipment.
