Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze trends, market profile and competition changes to ensure the Trade Team is provided with up to date knowledge of the market.
• Compile and deliver concise reports monthly to ensure that the Line manager is provided with timely and up to date information on cargo volume, change in revenue, and costs.
• Prepare scenario plans/proposals supported by sufficiently detailed financials and commentary so to ensure Trade targets are reached for the year.
• Assist with ensuring the vessel stays on schedule and monitor bookings that the vessel has the maximized amount of cargo for each sailing.
• Responsible for the vessel/cargo during the sailing in the directional area of responsibility.
• Manage and maintain relationships with the key customers.
• Develop, drive & review the annual budget for trade & provide summary data as required.
• Review monthly results & explain to the Line manager why variations took place when compared to the budget.
• Develop competitive pricing proposals with due consideration to shareholder value.
• Drive and motivate the Sales Team and Agents to sell in line with the budget.
• Manage and train staff to optimize efficiency.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Line Manager
Job Requirements
• Degree in Logistics, International Transportation
• Minimum 2 years shipping experience.
• Contracting Chartering Operations.
• Cargo Operations such as containerized cargo, General cargo & RORO cargo.
• Highly developed communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Teamwork & Supervision skills
• Ability to prepare and analysis financial data
• Demonstrate ability to proactively strategies and plan effectively and deliver outcomes
• Proven problem solving skill, with ability to communicate with all department styles.
