We currently have a great opportunity to appoint a new Crewing Assistant within Northern Marine Manning Services.
The Crewing Assistant is responsible for supporting the crewing team with administration and compliance requirements and support the wider crewing function.
Main Responsibilities

To verify that Crew locations are correctly entered and up to date in database in order ensure timely payment of the sea staff’s salary prior payroll monthly cut-off dates.

Attend to and follow up email queries from finance/agents/marine personnel with regards to crews wages remittances and related matters

Responsibility for a small number of vessels

Maintain bank details of crew beneficiaries

Liaise with ship masters on the monthly submission of ship statement of accounts for month end closing and reconciliations.

Liaison with external parties such as port and recruitment agents for marine personnel related operational matters.

Ensure correct certification and documentation in place with recruitment agents

Monitor and effect marine personnel development plan
-
Monitor the appraisal / assessment of marine personnel performance

Administer ship manager system as per company’s procedures

Ensure compliance to all regulatory requirements and company policies pertaining to Marine Personnel

Arrange Senior Officers to attend officer for annual appraisal.

Enroll crewmembers in the Company Medical plan.

Essential Criteria
-
Appropriate Secondary school qualifications including a minimum of 2 Highers or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a marine environment

Experience in multinational crew and seafarer requirements

Good understanding and knowledge of flag requirements and other statutory requirements for seafarers.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software

Excellent Interpersonal skills

High level of attention to detail and accuracy

Highly Organised
Desirable

University Degree, preferably with HR or Business Administration

Previous experience working within a seagoing HR team for a Ship Management Company
-
Awareness and knowledge of HR Shipping legislation including STCW and MLC.
