We are seeking an experienced and motivated Marine Support Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen to support the preparation and future operation on the Rosebank field.

The Marine Support Engineer, reporting to OR&A (Operational Readiness & Assurance) Maintenance Superintendent will be an integral part of the Rosebank OR&A Team and then moving into the FPSO Operations support team following project completion

Our ultra-modern FPSO, Petrojarl Knarr, will be used to produce and store hydrocarbons, currently undergoing life extension work, modifications for field specifics, and enhanced energy efficiency. Our Petrojarl Knarr FPSO is set for deployment on the Rosebank field, which is situated 130 km west of Shetland.

Some of the things you will be accountable for

The Marine Support Engineer shall support the OR&A Maintenance Superintendent, including interactions with the project team and client, to ensure all Marine related technical and administration support duties are delivered in an accurate and timely manner. 
They will be responsible for ensuring that Class certified Marine equipment and inspections programs of the FPSO are carried out in accordance with agreed systems and procedures. 
The Marine Support Engineer will also be required to assist with other aspects of OR&A preparation as required, and as directed by the OR&A Maintenance Superintendent. 

  • Assist with the creation and review of the In-Service RBI Inspection program. 
  •  Assist with generation of the operational Marine inspection budget and ensuring proper management of cost related to budgets. 
  •  Partake in reviews for development of Operational Performance Standards and ensuring alignment with inspection programs and creation of work schedules for implementation into the CMMS. 
  •  Provide regular updates against OR&A schedule, to demonstrate progress to the Client. 
  • Co-ordinate work carried out by subcontractors for areas of responsibility. 
  • Monitor planned and corrective maintenance with specific focus on Safety Critical systems and reporting maintenance performance metrics as required. 
  • Register statutory and Class recommendations and ensure that these are complied with. 
  • Arrange In-Service surveys/inspections for certification authorities and the Classification Society, in co-operation with the Asset Manager and Maintenance Superintendent. 
  • Implement the Marine Class and Hull/Structures Risk Based Inspection program and carry out corrective actions according to findings, continue to improve and optimize the programs to minimize downtime.
  • Co-operate with the dedicated Technical Authority, regarding Inspection Programs, with respect to e.g. acceptance criteria, inspection interval and level of inspection. 
  • Follow up expiry dates, time limits for Class Certificates, Surveys, and Condition of Class/Condition of Authorities and keeps close contact with authorities and classification society to ensure that all planned activities are carried out on time.  
  • Ensure that DNV Exchange shows correct status of the unit and maintains a certification file for it and manages any non-conformances accordingly. 
  • Ensure proper handling of modifications to the installation in accordance with company Management of Change procedure. 
  •  Co-ordinate with the Marine Manager for in-water and subsurface inspection campaigns for hull, mooring lines and propulsion equipment surveys or repairs. 
  •  Approve material requisitions and invoices according to procedures. 

Qualifications

B.Sc. OR as a minimum Higher National Certificate in a relevant technical Marine discipline combined with several years’ experience in a similar or offshore role.
