Some of the things you will be accountable for
The 2nd Engineer shall assist the Lead Mechanical Engineer in their functions and undertake operational maintenance/repair of the installation.
- Operate and monitor equipment within areas of responsibility in close cooperation with the control room
- Carry out routine inspection in utility areas during shift, in particular in FWD and AFT machinery spaces
- Participate in daily work planning meetings, preparing/reviewing work orders
- Ensure work requests are sufficiently detailed, clearly defining the scope of work or nature of problem along with basic planning information
- Act as nominated area authority (NAO) within PTW
- Act as isolating authority/verifier
- Generate and design permits and isolations for plant maintenance and shutdown activities.
- Assist Lead Mechanical Engineer in managing the broken flange register.
- Carry out clear concise and verbal shift handovers and end of tour written handover.
- Assist Marine Department during offloading operations.

- Housekeeping of assigned areas under the control of the Maintenance Department.
- Actively participate in Independent Verifier (IV), Class and Flag surveys/audit work to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Apply technical knowledge to determine equipment failures and identify appropriate solutions to develop a repair solution for onboard equipment.
- Maintain complete and accurate records within the Maintenance Management System.
- Carry out duties in accordance with Operations Manual Part 5, Offshore Emergency Response Plan (ERP)
Qualifications
- STCW III/2 2nd Engineer Certificate of Competency (unlimited)
- Compliance with training matrix for the position
