Deck Officer

Are you a team player who shares knowledge with others, values ​​good cooperation and contributes to a good work environment? Then you can be our new colleague! We can now offer you a permanent position as second mate with an initial placement on board one of our ships departing from Trelleborg. We apply shipping company employment, which means that in the future you can be reassigned to other Swedish-flagged ships within Stena Line.

As the second mate, you will be an important cog in the deck department - always focusing on safety first! You will ensure that the tasks within the tire department, such as loading and unloading, are carried out efficiently and correctly. Maintenance work is coordinated by the Chief Mate, with whom you will work closely.

Some of your main responsibilities:

Responsible for navigation and safety
Work to streamline and strengthen the tire department
Assist the Chief Mate in managing onboard maintenance
Plan and be responsible for loading and unloading
Responsible for medical care on board
Be a motivated and inspiring team player

Qualifications:

Deck officer class V
Strong analytical and strategic skills
Good systems knowledge
Fluent in English and Swedish
Dangerous goods certificate

Mediterranean:

This is a full-time position with initial placement on board one of our ships departing from Trelleborg. We apply shipping company employment, which means that in the future you can be reassigned to other Swedish-flagged ships within Stena Line and the salary is regulated through a collective agreement with SBF.
