Duties and Responsibilities
For 3rd Engineer:
To define the vessel operations and activities for which the Third Engineer is responsible and to set out the Safety Management System policies and procedures in accordance with which the Third Engineer's duties shall be carried out.
To ensure that areas of responsibility on the ship, including, maintenance, engineering, ballasting, oil handling operations, and hull and equipment are in accordance with the CSL Vessel Management System, Transport Canada Regulations, codes of practice or standards that may be applicable to the operation of the vessel.
For Fourth Engineer:
To define the vessel operations and activities for which the Fourth Engineer is responsible and to set out the CSL Vessel Management System policies and procedures in accordance with which the Fourth Engineer's duties shall be carried out.
To ensure that areas of responsibility on the ship, including maintenance, engineering, ballasting, oil handling operations, and hull and equipment are in accordance with the CSL Vessel Management System, Transport Canada Regulations, codes of practice or standards that may be applicable to the operation of the vessel.
