Duties and responsibilities
• Responsible for developing and executing global procurement strategies by working with internal and external stakeholders;
• Understand the specific procurement category, its cost structure and supplier landscape, at both a regional and global scale;
• Conducts sourcing activities such as market research, requests for proposal, requests for quotation, etc.;
• Support managers and directors in the evaluation of suppliers by establishing an evaluation matrix with the stakeholders and performing the analysis of results;
• Create total cost models and savings projections with ability to manipulate large amounts of data, in order to find correlations and analytics that will help create valuable information used for building and supporting an overall supply/negotiation strategy;
• Prepare presentations that highlight the findings in coordination with all key stakeholders to ensure team consensus on procurement strategy and approach;
• Lead negotiations with key suppliers in order to achieve the best outcomes for the organization;
• Support in the development of KPIs to track the strategy realization and review compliance;
• Evaluate, measure and implement key performance indicators of the entire supply chain including vendor performance and ESG risk management;
• Create tools to support the business in increasing business intelligence to make total cost of ownership decisions and automate daily tasks
• Lead and support vendor relationship and contract management, including the coordination and follow up on vendor claims and issues, contract renewals, etc;
• Perform any other duties as required within the Source-to-Pay cycle;
Qualification and skills
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, MIS, Data Analytics, Commerce, or Supply Chain / Logistics;
- 5 years of relevant experience in procurement
- Marine experience considered an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access;
- Practical knowledge of ERP software (Oracle, SAP, etc.), an asset;
- Advanced knowledge of data mining systems such as Cognos/Tableau, SAS, Access, Power BI, etc., an asset;
- Team player with strong communication, intercultural skills and assertiveness;
- Quickly captures abstract business requirements, creates a concept and turns it into a comprehensive solution;
- Strengths are: Analytical skills, project management, tool development, contracting and negotiation skills;
- Solid grasp of the logistics, financial and economic aspects of procurement and supply chain;
- Establishes good relationships with the business and internal clients;
- Excels at negotiating large scale contracts, both on commercial and contractual terms;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
