Responsible for: (The main job activities)
Control and monitor activities of welding for Fabrication Department as directed by immediate supervisor.
All the process for which they are responsible is performed according to specified standards.
Preparing turn over for next shift including Weld productivity reports.
Provide reports on welding traceability. (Workshop & onboard).
To support Supervisors and planners in Pre-planning, generation of programs and follow up of all jobs in order to utilize optimum resources.
Surveillance and implementation of effective tools and techniques being used in the shop. (Like SAW m/c, MIG m/c etc).
Responsible to arrange necessary safety permits in desired work area.
Check and identify and control safety hazardous as well as infringement that is being done with in the area.
Coordination with other trades for the resolution of interface issue.
Coordination with Project managers, Work Preparator, Material Controller and Fabricators.
Ensure the following and compliance with the Safety and Quality objectives among the team members.
Responsible to conduct Toolbox talks with the team members for different quality and safety related issues / alerts.
Ensure that proper house keeping is maintained through out the production process.
Pro-active participation in identifying process errors on-board / in the workshop highlighting and raising nonconformance through Occurrence reports. Raise corrective / preventive actions and control implementation of it.
Take the initiative steps towards improvement of the in process work procedure.
Responsible for the safe usage of the company equipment and adequate control on materials wastage.
Working as a team leader responsible for on job training and performance appraisals of the other team members.
Perform any other job related duties as assigned by the Section Head.
Preferred Competencies:
Good command on English language.
Proven leadership quality and communication skill.
Minimum 3 years experience in major shipyard. Oil & Gas Organization.
Should be conversant with applicable safe working practices, quality and standards.
