Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering fi rm Guido Perla & Associates, Inc. (GPA) is looking for an experienced Senior Naval Architect to join our expanding staff at the company’s headquarters in Seattle, WA.
Primary responsibiliƟ es will include:
/ Act as Project Engineer or Project Manager to provide oversight of various vessel design and construcƟ on projects
/ Develop general arrangements for machinery, structural design, stability analysis, fi nite element modeling, hydrodynamics,
speed and power calculaƟ ons, as well as class and regulatory evaluaƟ ons and calculaƟ ons
/ Involved with design work ranging from conceptual design to detailed construcƟ on engineering
/ Assist with other technical disciplines, in accordance with skills and company workload
/ Reports directly to the President
PosiƟ on Requirements:
/ EducaƟ on: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering
/ Experience: Five years of experience in naval architecture industry
/ Skills/Special Requirements:
/ Project Engineer/Project Management experience
/ AutoCAD
/ ShipConstructor or FORAN system soŌ ware
Physical Requirements:
/ Limited physical acƟ vity in an offi ce environment
/ Physical ability to parƟ cipate in shipyard and shipboard surveys involving access to confi ned spaces, climbing verƟ cal ladders
and scaff olding, minor liŌ ing, and other acƟ vity
/ Dexterity and coordinaƟ on to operate computer equipment
/ Finite Element Analysis experience a plus
/ Ability to work independently or as part of a focused team
/ Excellent wriƩ en and oral communicaƟ on skills in English
/ Dexterity and coordinaƟ on to operate computer equipment Location: United States of America (USA)
