NAVAL ARCHITECT
Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering firm Guido Perla & Associates, Inc. (GPA) is looking for an experienced Naval Architect to join our expanding staff at the company’s headquarters in Seattle, WA.
Primary responsibiliƟ es will include:
/ Development of stability and seakeeping data, as well as structural design of diff erent vessel types of various lengths,
including off shore vessels, workboats, passenger vessels and fi shing vessels.
PosiƟ on Requirements:
/ BSE or MSE Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering
/ Minimum of two years experience working as a Naval Architect
/ Be well versed in GHS for stability
/ Working knowledge of AutoCAD
/ Experience with diesel-electric and standard propulsion systems
/ Experience with diff erent manufacturing and construcƟ on methods
/ Familiarity with regulatory and classifi caƟ on requirements
/ Familiarity with vessel operaƟ ons
/ Finite Element Analysis experience a plus
/ Ability to work independently or as part of a focused team
/ Excellent wriƩ en and oral communicaƟ on skills in English
Physical Requirements:
/ Limited physical acƟ vity in an offi ce environment
/ Physical ability to parƟ cipate in shipyard and shipboard surveys involving access to confi ned spaces, climbing verƟ cal ladders
and scaff olding, minor liŌ ing, and other acƟ vity
/ Dexterity and coordinaƟ on to operate computer equipment
/ Finite Element Analysis experience a plus
/ Ability to work independently or as part of a focused team
/ Excellent wriƩ en and oral communicaƟ on skills in English
