SPECIALIST MARINE ENGINEER

Mission:
Provide the answers and alternatives on complex engineering issues of clients and Dockwise projects. Such as conducting feasibility studies, design of (alternative) solutions when making an offer and project support in the execution phase.

Responsibilities:

Impact on Business:

Check and review work from other Marine Engineers.
Contribute actively in the quality control within the Marine Engineering department.
Research and development tasks.
Evaluate and advice on enquiries needed for a successful tender process or safe and successful project execution.
Contribute to industry wide workgroups.
Promote engineering developments in the international industry by presenting papers at conferences and giving lectures.
Follow department related processes and procedures.
Innovation and Change:

Initiate in the development and improvement of Marine Engineering methods, tools and equipment and have a leading role in innovation.
Internal & External Customers/Suppliers as well as Third Parties:

Provide engineering advice and support to other disciplines as well as external parties, using industry standard and in-house developed hydrodynamics software.
People Leadership:

Guide and develop Marine Engineers (Junior/Medior/Senior) by sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues and be a source of information for them.
Requirements:

Education Background:

Higher Professional Education or University Degree (Master or higher) in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Offshore Technology or Aerospace Engineering with at least 10 years relevant working experience.
Professional Knowledge:

Specific knowledge about offshore and ship hydromechanics; Knowledge of relevant industry standards.
Intercultural Awareness.
Cost-conscious/-minded.
General organizational knowledge applied to Dockwise.
Experience with motivating, guiding and coaching others within own field of work.
Other skills:

English Language (fluent both written and spoken).
Task supporting software; extensive experience with programming software, MATLAB, AQWA, Safetrans, WAMIT, MOSES, MCS, Flexcom, Optimoor, Octopus or equivalent.
MS Office.
