Tasks and responsibilities:
• implementation of the Company’s Safety Management Systems within defined
areas of responsibility;
• ensuring Company owned and managed vessels are operated in a safe, efficient
and economical manner, and in full compliance with Class and Statutory
regulations;
• liaising with vessel Masters and Chief Engineers, and providing technical advise
and assistance where necessary;
• ensuring that the vessels continue to meet standards and criteria required by
clients;
• undertaking regular inspections of vessels, and compiling condition reports on
hull, machinery and equipment;
• reporting regularly to the Fleet Managers, highlighting problems, progress,
defects and repairs;
• undertaking any other duties of a reasonable nature as directed by the Fleet
Managers.
Function requirements:
• experience as Chief Engineer / 1st Engineer or;
• experience in Ship repair or Ship Management;
• good knowledge of MS-Office;
• good verbal and written communication and reporting skills.
