Applications are invited for 1st Mate of Tall Ship Royal Albatross.
Requirements are:
Competency
OTo take charge of controlling the sails and rig of a square-rigged ship. Evidenced by: Recent, extensive experience as the Mate of a square-rigger (2 years), and/or holds the Nautical Institute \"Square Rig Master or Mate Certificate\".
OTo take charge of a navigation watch when sailing, including all aspects of navigation, collision avoidance, seamanship and safety. Evidenced by: Holds RYA Yachtmaster Offshore certificate (commercially endorsed) or equivalent recognised certification.
OSTCW-95 compliantPersonal attributes
OAbility to forge teamwork in a multi-cultural crew through appreciating cultural differences and leading by example. Evidenced by: Positive track record of working with multi-cultural teams plus references fully supporting this.
OFluent verbal and written English, Punctuality, loyalty, reliability, sobriety, trustworthyness and a sense of fun. Evidenced by references supporting each of these.
Permanent long term position based in Singapore cruising SEA.
