Reporting to the Fleet Manager and duties and responsibilities are:
Planning, controlling and execution of all activities connected with maintenance, repairs, survey and certificate requirements, drydocking, conversion or modification of assigned vessels.
Updating, implementing and monitoring Teledata Fleet Management system including Engine Maintenance Programs (PMS-Eng).
Formulating a dynamic work plan and action list with the Chief Engineer, to ensure that the vessel is maintained in accordance with Company’s policy and to receive regular reports as to its progress.
Assist in selecting suitable Chief Engineer, Engineer Officers & ratings for vessels under his care.
Verifying the work and performance of Chief Engineer, Engineer officers and rating.
Conducting inspections of the vessel in order to ensure the maintenance is carried out in line with company PMS and Manufaturer’s guidance
Attend to oil majors’ vetting requirements of the Company and the fleet; Assist in maintaining the Company’s TMSA
Monitor daily reports of the vessel and provide technical advice and support as required
Monitor fuel oil & lube oil , Cooling water testing result and take necessary corrective action promptly.
Ensure engine room stores, spares and other maintenance items supplied on board on time and sufficient stock maintained on board at all times.
Keep abreast, update and implement New Rules, Regulations and legislations applicable to the Company and Fleet
Assist in implementing various rules and regulations , initiatives ( e.g. ECDIS/ SEEMP etc)
Participate in maritime organizations, committees and working groups as and when required
Draw up, implement and monitor the budget and cost control for the fleet, including docking and modifications
Other duties as may be delegate by Department head or Management.
Job Requirement:
Possess Certificate of Competency (Engine) Class 1
Should have at least 2 years experiences as Chief Engineer in petroleum and chemical tankers below 20,000 mt deadweight and with 4-stroke main diesel engines
Preferably have 1 to 2 years’ experience as shore based Technical Superintendent
Good communication skills in English.
Able and willing to travel overseas to visit or sail with company vessels or other assigned vessels as and when required Location: Worldwide
