JOB SUMMARY:
The Transport Route Analyst works closely with both the customer and other Metro team members to ensure efficient route optimization across the delivery network. The position also compiles relevant operational data and performs analysis in support of KPI performance management.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Utilize Apian Route Modelling Software to analyse & update DSD routes on an ongoing basis
•Optimize routes to accommodate rush orders and previous undelivered orders on a daily basis
•Communicate with regional facilities and customer service in support of above tasks
•Communicate with third party carriers on an ongoing basis to ensure uninterrupted service to terminals
•Coordinate with Site Supervisors on driver and vehicle scheduling ( maintenance, driver sick/vacation)
•Escalate recurring issues related to the above tasks to Transport Manager
•Create KPI data reports using TMW software in coordination with Transport Manager to ensure KPI’s are being met both by carriers and DSD fleet
•Assist Transportation Processor with auditing carrier invoices when required
•Assumes additional related responsibilities as required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Minimum secondary school diploma, a post-secondary degree in transport/logistics field is an asset
•Minimum 5 years related work experience in transport/logistics

•Demonstrated high level of proficiency with MS Office applications
•Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
