Students/Apprentice/trainees

GMC Maritime encourages trainees within the disciplines electro, metalwork (Pipefitters, platefitters, welders), mechanical and surface treatment to apply for apprenticeship in the company. GMC Maritime offers exciting and varied tasks, and a challenging working environment within these disciplines.

All apprentices are individually followed up and assigned a contact person for appraisals, guidance, advice and support. In addition the company keeps a highly competent and widely professional staff. They contribute effectively in their everyday lives when it comes to the regular updates and development through our work teams, where apprentices actively participate. The company also cooperates closely with the various training offices as an expanded quality assurance for the trainees.

Throughout the learning period, regular follow-up meetings between the apprentice, corporate and training offices are carried out. Status of acquired knowledge according to the education plan is one of the main topics during these monitoring rounds. At the end, the final certificate test is performed either at a test station at the training office facilities or at the company’s facilities, with a task made by the company in cooperation with the trial committee.

In GMC Maritime, we are interested in technology, systems, development and efficiency. This includes apprentices’ participation in everyday life in terms of their integration into the necessary systems and procedures. Apprentices are assigned various acquisitions in the business system for their own time accounting, reporting, status messages and close participation in our projects. It is also expected that the trainees acquire knowledge of and respect for the company’s high focus on quality assurance and HSE, for a safer and constantly learning organisation.
