SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Supervises new vessel and major modification construction, with emphasis on contractual compliance, regulatory compliance and quality performance of shipyard contractors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
New Construction and / or Major Modification Design and Documentation Supervision
Review and approve specifications, drawings, plans, sketches and other information pertaining to construction and commissioning of company new-build or modified vessels to ensure compliance by contracting shipyards, consultants and vendors with company specifications, regulatory body requirements, and vessel service functionalities. Integration and organization of technical documentation, including distribution of knowledge and interface management, shall be performed.
New Construction and / or Major Modification Physical Work Supervision
Survey and approve for final acceptance shipyard contractor and equipment vendor physical work and material or equipment deliveries to satisfaction of company specifications, regulatory requirements and vessel functionality.
Owner Furnished Equipment Supervision
Review, recommend, and specify for purchase company furnished equipment and materials necessary for construction and operational outfitting of new construction vessels. Coordinate installation, commissioning and final acceptance of Owner-furnished machinery and materials with contracting shipyards and vendors.
Fleet Integration
Assimilation of technical documentation, certification and vessel system functions toward training shore based and fleet employees in correct, safe and efficient operation of company new building vessels following delivery to the company. Integration of new building vessels into company safety management system, including maintenance program and bridge management system integration.
All other duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline or equivalent industry experience of not less than ten (10) years.
Ten (10) or more years in positions of increasing responsibility for the construction repair and operation of marine vessels.
Valid driver’s license and passport required. USCG marine licenses for deck or engine room watch standing responsibilities desired.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Familiarity with industry regulatory requirements and management systems essential.
Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Personal computer functional skills for spread sheet and word processing applications desirable.

This position is based out of Panama City, FL at Eastern Shipyard.
HOURS OF WORK
Standard Hours are 0730 – 1700 Monday through Friday, excluding travel and overtime.
Potential exists for extensive overtime as required by responsibilities and as directed by supervisor.
