Fleet Recruiter
Location: Headquarters (Covington, LA)
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Manages all recruiting activities related to attracting and hiring fleet personnel.
SCOPE OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Interviews applicants to obtain work history, education, training, technical job skills, and salary requirements to evaluate for open positions and job fit.
Collects, reviews, organizes, and manages applications.
Refers qualified applicants to operations management team and personnel for follow up interviews.
Arranges technical testing when appropriate, as well as travel and lodging for selected applicants at company expense.
Conducts thorough background checks using third-party agencies and by contacting past employers and references.
Creates salary builds for qualified candidates using established templates.
Extends offers of employment to qualified, licensed, and experienced personnel.
Creates and promotes networking within personnel sources, including maritime academies, colleges and universities trade schools, high schools, military outplacement services, and human resources agencies for personnel prospects.
Monitors and maintains records of open positions.
Manages data entry and maintenance of all required records, maintains candidate and job files and employment records for future reference.
Ensures company-wide hiring needs are met with qualified candidates in the most expeditious and cost effective manner.
Discusses staffing needs with managers to prepare and implement recruiting strategies for long and short range staffing needs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Minimum of a Bachelors degree
Experience: Four or more years of experience in the maritime industry and/or recruiting. Former licensed mariner and/or veteran a plus.
Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of offshore supply vessels and operations. Fluency in Portuguese and/or Spanish helpful.

Work Environment: Office setting with agreeable conditions.
HOURS OF WORK
Standard Hours are 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday (or until work is completed).
Some overtime will be required from time to time.
Travel will be required to fulfill the duties of the position.
