JOB DESCRIPTION
- Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Handle analytical review of financial statements
- Prepare audited financial statements, audit schedules and liaise with auditors accordingly
- Prepare periodic financial report for reporting to joint venture partners and / or banks
- Prepare and monitor funding position of assigned vessels and / or companies
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders and business partners on the performance of assigned vessels and / or companies
- Participate in the monthly review and closing process
- Handle tax compliance submission, prepare journal entries and maintain accounting schedules as appropriate
- Maintain fixed assets information in a timely and accurate manner
- Perform revaluation and allocation function in Oracle system as appropriate
- Conduct checks to ensure accuracy of the system generated information
- Actively participate and engage in the process for the continuous improvement of departmental procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Accounting or professional qualification in Accounting
- 3 - 5 years work experience in accounting related roles with 1 - 2 years work experience in an audit firm
- Working knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards required
- Prior experience in system change / implementation required
- Most recent work experience should include:
- Analytical review of financial statements
- Preparation of financial reports
- Preparation of audit schedules and liaison with auditors
- Strong computer skills and experience in computerized accounting / ERP systems preferred
- Prior experience in shipping industry and / or shared service centre will be an advantage
- Mature and strong team player with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Comfortable in handling high volume work in a face paced environment
- Able to commence immediately or within short notice
