Marine Electrical / Electronics Technician
Our Company is recruiting a qualified, hands on marine electrician. The right candidate should be able to form part of an electrical / mechanical team and to plan and work on his own if necessary. He is expected to work on board company owned and managed vessels operating locally or abroad, workshops and terminals.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Reports to – Electronics/ Electrical Superintendent.
• Instructed by - Chief Engineers or Technical Superintendents.
• Follows & maintains - a Shipboard computer based Planned Maintenance System.
• Trouble shoots faults on equipment (although not limited to) such as – main engine, generator, propulsion control and monitoring, switchboards and related equipment, VSDs, motor starters other than VSDs, main and emergency lighting, passenger lifts, fire alarms, surveillance cameras and HVAC equipment control.
• Understands – electrical drawings; Classification Society rules and regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
• STCW Certificate of Competency - Electro Technical officer.
• MCAST Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Electronics or Industrial Electronics Engineering (MQF Level 4) can be considered with the right experience.
• Preferably worked on board vessels, or in a marine environment.
• Computer literate - Windows/ Office programs and ACAD.
• Valid driver’s license.
