This role will be responsible for the delivery of emergency response and helideck operational training programs, aimed at the Offshore Oil & Gas and Maritime Industries

FIRE INSTRUCTOR

Main Responsibilities

  • Delivering industry approved courses (OPITO, STCW, GWO, & Bespoke events).
  • Supervising and teaching delegates during fire courses, offshore helideck courses, and other applicable training events. Occasional support of survival and marine based programs will be expected.
  • Carrying out delegate competency assessments against the required course criteria.
  • Operating liquid/gas-based fire props during live fire training.
  • Attending periodical operational meetings.
  • Managing your weekly training schedule, set by the Lead Instructor.
  • Promoting a positive safety culture around the worksite.
  • Maintain and update courses to meet approval standards, following the Companies process and systems such as ISO 9001 but not limited to.
  • Occasional travel as required.
  • You may be asked from time to time be asked to undertake other tasks that are considered to be relevant to your position.

Essential Criteria

  • A1 Assessor or equivalent.
  • 3+ Years’ experience in occupational firefighting and emergency response operations.
  • Experience in firefighting and emergency response at a supervisory level.
  • Possess occupational expertise in offshore helicopter operations or have practical experience related to offshore helicopter operations.
  • Able and willing to work to flexible schedules/shifts.
  • Knowledge of industry approved firefighting techniques.
  • Knowledge of equipment used for firefighting both on fixed and mobile offshore assets.
  • Communication skills.
  • Organisation of teams.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Worked offshore /at sea or delivered training in this environment.
  • First Aid qualified
  • Knowledge of industry training standards & associations (OGUK, OPITO, STCW, IADC, APi etc.).
  • Ability to adapt to industry changes.
