The Operations Department optimizes operational excellence by safely and cost-efficiently managing all available operational and technical resources and knowledge to fully satisfy the requirement of each project in accordance with the Company Vision, Mission, Identity & Shared Values and the Quality, Safety, Health & Environment Policy.
Aim of position:
Ensuring proper execution of all DW projects in a safe, cost efficient and timely manner by providing correct and timely advice with sufficient detail.
Responsibilities:
Review the Cargo Securing Manual.
Determine/establish and adhere to the DW operational standard.
Prepare project documentation.
Arrange flag state exemptions (for additional riders) if required.
Ensure a smooth, safe, cost efficient and timely execution of the project, meeting client expectations.
Check the site, vessel, cargo (and tug or other equipment) required for the operation if all is in accordance with the requirements.
Deliver lay time calculation a completed Superintendent manual and a summary of commitments.
Complete various cargo documents and calculates demurrage, fuel escalation etc.
Participate in risk analyses.
Compile 'Scope of Works' for subcontractors (deck preparations, sea fastening etc).
Supervise the work and to prepare all required administration i.e. statement of facts, bill of lading and checking documents/bills afterwards.
Inspect the vessel(s) and compile a report for DW as regular.
Pro-actively participating in preparing appointed projects to be executed in a safe and cost efficient manner by providing correct and timely advice where required with sufficient detail.
Give correct reply on Q&A’s.
Give proper operational and marine advice.
Inform all involved parties, Ship Manager, company departments, client, marine warranty surveyor, including Heavy Lift Vessel, concerning the project planning and details.
Act as an ambassador abroad and on board and represent Dockwise accordingly.
Arrange and participate in meetings with client, marine warranty surveyor and local authorities to organize all prerequisites to ensure a smooth operation. Assists the Engineering Department with enquiries and transport manuals.
Requirements:
Education/Training in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Maritime Officer or equivalent
Relevant experience, preferably in heavy lifting, tugs or offshore
Knowledge of welding processes, materials, constructions and theory of strength of materials
Fluent in Dutch and English
Competences:
Communication, clear in writing as well as orally
Entrepreneurship,recognize possibilities and threats within own field of work
Goal orientation, focusing on achieving goals and on time delivering
Business processing, focusing on efficient and effective processes
