Job Overview: A global integrated Energy Company engaged in the exploration and the production of crude oil and natural gas seeks a SAP System Specialist to provide process, project configuration and end user support for SAP modules primarily Plant Maintenance, Procurement and Remote Logistics Management. Applicants are invited with proven experience in Plant maintenance, Procurement and/or Logistics in the oil and gas industry and in using SAP. Experience in other ERP systems would also be considered. Working for a global prestigious oil Company you will be supported to further develop your technical skills.

Working within the Company’s ERP Application Support group you will provide application support for SAP Plant Maintenance, Materials Management, Inventory Management and Offshore Logistics Management modules. This support includes resolving day-to-day system issues by diagnosing the problem and resolving issues or by changing configuration in collaboration with the Houston based ERP group. This is primarily a Europe and North Africa support position but you will be asked at times to support worldwide E&P operations

The Company is an independent operator and has offices in 20 countries across six continents. They are also involved in the refining and the delivery of natural gas, petroleum products and electricity to the market. They continue to expand their assets and offerings to the marketplace.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Manager of Global Supply Chain and Operations within the ERP Group, this role encompasses many functions including:

Become competent in the Company’s ERP SAP software, work practices and workflows. Full training will be provided.
Provide application support for SAP Plant Maintenance, Materials Management, Inventory Management and Offshore Logistics Management modules.
Thoroughly test and document all configuration changes, system fixes and upgrades received by SAP before migrating to production environment.
Assist Gas Plants, Platforms, Drilling and Logistics Operations to adhere to the global processes.
Participate in system upgrades and acceptance testing of new software releases.
Understand and provide system support for points of integration between Plant Maintenance, Materials Management and Remote Logistics Management modules.
Assist customers in running and interpreting results of standard and custom BI reports used in analyses.
Ensure that customers maintain the proper level of system security
Participate in SAP implementation projects.
Develop and deliver end user training courses.
Continue to develop your technical skills relating to the Company’s ERP practices as it relates to the E&P industry.
This is an ideal role for an individual with extensive experience in using SAP Plant Maintenance, Procurement and/or logistics management tools in the oil and gas industry. The role offers the opportunity to gain further technical knowledge and experience using leading SAP applications working for an Integrated Energy Company operating globally.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:

BSc or BA Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance essential. MBA preferred.
Proven experience in Plant Maintenance, Procurement and/or logistics in the oil and gas industry essential.
Proven experience in using SAP OR/AND related ERP systems (eg. SmartPlant, Maximo…) essential Preferably in modules relating to Materials Management, Inventory Management, Logistics Execution AND/OR Plant Maintenance.
Talent and strong desire to work on highly integrated systems.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to exercise independent problem solving techniques.
Ability to prioritise work in support of the ERP teams working to varied deadlines and challenges.
Ability to work under pressure to strict time constraints.
Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and Access skills essential.
Excellent communication skills – the ability to communicate effectively and work with the business units and technical support staff.
Highly organized with an attention to detail.
Self-motivated, adaptable and enthusiastic with a proactive approach to tasks and the ability to initiate, analyse, and problem solve.
Willingness to travel for periods of up to 4 weeks at a time.
